The Mercer Brand, a Dutch luxury fashion brand known for its sneakers and handmade collections, would open its second store in France, in the Marais district in Paris. The address chosen would be 99 rue Vieille du Temple, according to FashionUnited France.

Founded in 2013 by Pim Dresen, the brand had opened a first store on the Ferdinand Bolstraat in Amsterdam in 2021. It is now present at around 750 retailers worldwide. Pim Dresen would receive the keys to the Paris store in August.

For its founder, this choice of district is not insignificant.

A new stage, not simply a second address

Pim Dresen insists on the scope of this project.

The founder also highlights the expected spillover effects beyond the point of sale itself.

According to Pim Dresen, the customer targeted in Paris would resemble that of Amsterdam. The context nonetheless differs: the Dutch consumer is described as relatively practical and casual, whereas in Paris the bar would be set higher in terms of fashion, style and presentation.

Dutch roots claimed

The collection, positioned in the mid to upper price segment and offering clothing and footwear for women and men, would keep the same base as in Amsterdam. The Marais store would not, however, be a simple copy of the one in the De Pijp district. A collection named "Le Marais" would have been created specially for the opening, with the launch of a shoe in collaboration with a Parisian brand, according to Pim Dresen.

Celui-ci nonetheless refuses any Frenchification of the brand's identity.

A soft opening of the Paris store would be planned for mid-September, before an official opening with an event in mid-October. Plans would already be underway for 2027, though Pim Dresen does not wish to reveal more for the moment.
